Development update · 2026-09-05A place for your digital life
The thinking behind a broader self-hosted home.
Your movies live in one place. Your family calendar in another. The manual for the receiver is somewhere else entirely.
Homestead begins with a simple idea: these things belong to the same home.
More than a library
Media is one part of the picture. Family information, household inventory, optional automation and plugins are part of the longer-term direction. The aim is a considered interface that connects the everyday details of your digital life.
A foundation you control
Self-hosting puts infrastructure choices in your hands. That does not promise absolute privacy or security. It makes ownership, configuration and local control part of the design.
What happens next
This website introduces the vision using sample data. Product availability, editions and prices are not finalized. Follow the roadmap here as those decisions take shape.
← All updatesHomestead is actively in development. Features, availability, plan names, pricing and tier inclusions are subject to change. Some functionality is not implemented, and some pages or screenshots contain placeholders. Planned features are not guaranteed for release.
Screenshots show a personal development library. The library owner states that locally stored media comes from purchased copies, authorized sources, or works in the public domain. Discovery and request screens may display titles not present in the local library. Homestead does not supply media or grant rights to download, copy or distribute it. Artwork, titles and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Users are responsible for having the necessary rights to their content.
